Moringa Oleifera,also called drumstick tree and horseradish tree ,is the most widely cultivated species of the genus Moringa, which is the sole genus in the family Moringaceae.Moringa Oleifera is a drought-resistant,fast-growing can reach 3m (9 ft) in just 10 months after the seed is planted,which indigenous to dry tropical areas in the Northwestern India, at the Southwestern foot of the Himalayas , now it is widely cultivated in different countries.There are extensive variety of nutritional and medicinal uses have been attributed to its roots, bark, leaves, flowers, fruits and seeds.Researches shows Almost all parts of this plant have been used for various diseases in the folk medicine of South Asia, including the treatment of inflammation and infectious diseases along with cardiovascular, gastrointestinal, haematological and hepatic and kidney disorders.Moringa Oleifera has in recent times been advocated as an outstanding indigenous source of highly digestible protein, Ca, Fe,Potassium,Magnesium,Vitamin C, Vitamin A and carotenoids .Furthermore,the β-sitosterol, total phenolic ,the flavonoids quercetin and luteolin in the leaves of Moringa Oleifera were reported as 90 mg/g, 8 μg/mL ,126 μg/g and 6.2 μg/g respectively.The leaves are traditionally used for the treatment of malaria, typhoid fever, parasitic diseases, genitourinary ailments, hypertension, arthritis, swellings, cuts, diseases of the skin, and diabetes as well as cardiac stimulants, contraceptive remedy, elicit lactation and to boost the immune system.J.Ethnopharmacol. reported in 2012, there are many biological properties of Moringa Oleifera including anticancer, antitumor,antioxidant,anti-inflammatory, diuretic properties as well as antihepatotoxic, antifertility, anti-urolithiasis,antimicrobial and analgesic activities.Usually,leaves of Moringa Oleifera are traditionally used as purgatives and in the treatment of headaches, haemorrhoids, fevers, inflammation of noise and throat, bronchitis, eye and ear infections, and to combat vitamin C deficiency. There are researches support its promising application in anti-cancer ,antioxidant, anti-inflammation ,antimicrobial ,infertility and sexual dysfunction enhancement.
